Almost Human Cancelled by Fox

Almost Human

Just as we scifi fans in the UK were gearing up to get into a new JJ Abrams scifi TV show, it seems our enthusiasm for US show imports has taken another bashing as Fox have announced that there will be no season 2 of Almost Human starring Karl Urban, as it has cancelled the show. Although ratings and critical response improved as season one progressed, it is thought that the show wasn’t seen to be strong enough to compete with those that are likely, in fact almost inevitably will, result from really strong pilots such as Gotham, The Red Band Society and Empire. If you are reading this in the UK and fancy seeing Dredd and Star Trek a-lister Urban in action for the first, complete, and ultimately final season of Almost Human then tune in to Watch from … Continue reading

Being Human Cancelled

Being Human

It has been announced by Syfy that when season 4 of Being Human concludes after returning from its mid season break, there will be no more. The US version of the UK show outlasted its inspiration by more than twelve months and so arguably was more successful. A spokesperson from Syfy said: “Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series’ production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work. “They’ve saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story’s beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora.”

Is New Doctor Who Character the Next Companion?

Samuel Anderson as Danny Pink

The word is starting to circulate that Clara Oswald may not be The Doctor’s only companion for too much longer as news has arrived that ex Emmerdale actor Samuel Anderson has joined the cast of Doctor Who as Danny Pink. Not only do the actors have Emmerdale in common, but the characters, Clara and Danny are both teachers at Coal Hill school. Now, it may not have gone unnoticed by many Doctor Who fans that Coal Hill School has featured in Doctor Who before. In fact, the BBC are quite keen for the link to original 1963 companions Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright to be realised as they were also teachers at Coal Hill. “I was so excited to join Doctor Who I wanted to jump and click my heels, but I was scared I might not come down before … Continue reading
