Is there a cure? Teen Wolf Show Notes Season 2 of MTV’s Teen Wolf kicks off in the US on Sunday 3rd June straight after the MTV awards, and there are some things that need sorting out in the new season. For example, having taken over as the new Alpha, Derek needs to cement his position and recruit new members to join the pack to make him even stronger, and without Derek being around to help Scott, Stiles needs to get more involved in the werewolf World. On the flip side, Allison is training hard, and we mean hard, to become more involved in the family business. Lookout for more of a badass Allison in season 2 who will also have the tricky problem of keeping her relationship with Scott a secret at the same time. … Continue reading →

Less Mystery? More Straight Forward? It seems that the consensus of opinion in TV World is that the long running mystery saga of a TV show which was spun so well (if not concluded so well) on shows like Lost, is becoming a little old hat and audiences are a bit fed up with having to think things through so much and invest so much time and effort into a TV show in order to figure out what’s going on. That’s why, the program makers are saying, is why we are starting to see this type of show get cancelled earlier and earlier. Fringe just about made it to five seasons. Flash Forward never really got going at all and Alcatraz has also now bit the dust because audiences are turning the channel. So, is the … Continue reading →

Another Post Apocalyptic Non-Starter? One of the new TV shows currently being considered for a pilot for TNT is The Last Ship, which is based on a novel by William Brinkley. It tells the story of a US Navy destroyer and its crew who suddenly find themselves in a whole new World when a pandemic takes out most of the Earth’s population while they are at sea. The thing is about this pitch is that it stands a fairly good chance of getting to air not least because Michael Lets Destroy Everything on the Planet Because it Will Look Spectactular Bay wants to direct the pilot. The Transformers director certainly knows how to add excitement to a movie and one thing is for sure, if he ends up involved, the special effects will be excellent. Whether … Continue reading →

Oooh – True Blood is Getting Serious… True Blood Show Notes Ok, so there are only so many hours in a day and there are lots of scifi and fantasy TV shows to watch and I must admit that True Blood never really made it onto my list. That may be a mistake on my part as the show seems to be going from strength to strength and if the trailer below is anything to go by, another one of my favourite shows may have to be kicked into the weeds so that I can watch True Blood from season 5 onwards. The fifth season of True Blood premieres on HBO in the States from 10th June. Of course, being in the UK I’m going to have to wait a while for it to appear on FX, but … Continue reading →

In fact it’s season low dipped to 8.2 million viewers but soon recovered to 8.8 million. "Thank you all so much for watching, we’re beyond thrilled to continue on!", the show’s co-creator, Adam Horowitz tweeted on Thursday after announcing Once’s renewal.

The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle Were Head to Head and Circle Lost In the grand scheme of things it is a relative surprise that TheCW saw fit to cancel The Secret Circle as it was the network’s second most popular programme behind The Vampire Diaries, but therein lies the rub. It looks like TheCW found the shows to be too similar and with The Vampire Diaries being the stronger of the two they have decided to redirect resources into it and let The Secret Circle go. It’s a shame really because The Secret Circle was probably heading in the right direction with the promise of a darker second season which of course now won’t happen. Are you a Secret Circle fan? Ratings Slump Against Stiff Competition Sinks Alcatraz Fox have announced that Alcatraz has been cancelled after only one season on the air. The show, starring Sarah Jones and ex of Lost Jorge Garcia told the story of inmates from Alcatraz back in the sixties mysteriously reappearing in present day San Francisco and getting up to their old tricks, including murder, bank robbery and kidnapping. When JJ Abrams’ Alcatraz launched it had an impressive 10 million viewership, but the ratings for the show sharply declined until after ten weeks it was struggling to get near 5 million. The show was also competing for a limited number of timeslots for scifi / fantasy shows and simply couldn’t cope against Fringe and Touch. It was announced previously that Fringe had been given a limited run 5th and final season meaning that … Continue reading →
