Alcatraz Pays Homage to Bullitt Alcatraz Show Notes Ok, so I’m a bit behind the times on this one. My first excuse is that I live in the UK so we’re a little bit behind with most TV shows. My second excuse though is that with Alcatraz having been cancelled I have been less than motivated to watch it all the way to the end because I knew disappointment was going to follow. I had several episodes queued up on my hard drive TV recorder and my wife wanted to clear them out, so I thought what the heck, and watched them back to back. I’m glad I did now, because the final episode of Alcatraz, was in my opinion the best of the lot and set the series up for what would have been … Continue reading →

Ratings Slump Against Stiff Competition Sinks Alcatraz Fox have announced that Alcatraz has been cancelled after only one season on the air. The show, starring Sarah Jones and ex of Lost Jorge Garcia told the story of inmates from Alcatraz back in the sixties mysteriously reappearing in present day San Francisco and getting up to their old tricks, including murder, bank robbery and kidnapping. The show was also competing for a limited number of timeslots for scifi / fantasy shows and simply couldn’t cope against Fringe and Touch. It was announced previously that Fringe had been given a limited run 5th and final season meaning that … Continue reading →

Dr. Diego ‘Doc’ Soto Diego Soto first visited Alcatraz prison when he was five years old and has been fascinated with the place ever since. Born to parents who were both Stanford University professors, he was raised in San Francisco and soaked up all the information he could about Alcatraz. He has been described by Garcia as an Alcatraz encyclopedia. When he was eleven, Doc Soto experienced a major traumatic event but although she is aware of it, Rebecca is yet to discover what the event was as the Doc is not yet ready to discuss it. It’s possible that he was abducted by someone from whom he managed to escape, which may be why he had such an emotional reaction to the case of Kit Nelson, who was a child murderer. Even though he only went to … Continue reading →
