A number of shows are getting close to wrapping their 2012 / 2013 seasons and so it is quite timely that NBC has just announced that Grimm and Revolution will both be renewed for new seasons. On top of that announcement, The CW has confirmed that there will be a second season of Beauty and the Beast meaning that it will join Arrow, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural in that regard, whose renewals were reported a few weeks ago.

Don’t forget to set your TV recorders if you aren’t going to be around on Friday evening (29th March) as the UK premiere has finally arrived for one of the hottest shows to come out of the United States for the last three years. When it launched, J.J. Abrams’ and Supernatural’s Eric Kripke’s Revolution, dragged in over 11 million viewers and has managed to hang on to over 8 million of those over the course of the first ten episodes before it went on a 4 month hiatus. As the show picks up where it left off on NBC in the States, we will be getting our first glimpse with episodes one and two showing back to back from 9pm on Sky One on Friday, 29th March. I don’t know about you but I was getting a little frustrated that Sky have been running trailers for Revolution for a number of weeks without telling us when to expect it to arrive. Well, the wait is over, instead of simply knowing that it will be ‘coming soon’, according to Digital Spy, Sky 1 will screen the premiere on Friday March 29th at 9pm. Focusing on a post-apocalyptic World where all forms of electrical power have simply ceased to work, the show has had a mixed reception from the critics but the fans seem to love it and NBC have a hit on their hands. Revolution has been on a four month hiatus in the states but the second half of season 1 returns to US screens on 25th March. Sarah Wright, Sky’s controller of acquisitions said: “Our … Continue reading →

Revolution Finally Picked Up in UK Revolution Show Notes It has taken a while but finally it has been confirmed that Revolution will air in the UK on Sky 1 early in 2013. The record breaking show has already aired ten episodes in the U.S. but for some reason it has taken ages to cement a deal with a UK channel. A couple of days ago though, Sarah Wright, who is Controller of Acquisitions for Sky Entertainment confirmed in a statement that, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Warner Bros on this latest project from JJ Abrams. Our customers have always had a strong connection with JJ Abrams’s event series, and we’re confident that Revolution will prove to be a monster hit with them following its record-breaking debut in the US.”

Less Mystery? More Straight Forward? It seems that the consensus of opinion in TV World is that the long running mystery saga of a TV show which was spun so well (if not concluded so well) on shows like Lost, is becoming a little old hat and audiences are a bit fed up with having to think things through so much and invest so much time and effort into a TV show in order to figure out what’s going on. That’s why, the program makers are saying, is why we are starting to see this type of show get cancelled earlier and earlier. Fringe just about made it to five seasons. Flash Forward never really got going at all and Alcatraz has also now bit the dust because audiences are turning the channel. So, is the … Continue reading →
