In a recent interview with The Sun to mark the broadcast this weekend of the final episode of season 7, “The Name of The Doctor”, Smith made it very clear that he will be back for a new season of Doctor Who adventures. “I’m on a break for a couple of months while I’m in Detroit making How To Catch A Monster,” he told the Sun. “We come back and shoot the Christmas special over the Summer, then we go on to the next series, which will either start filming at the end of this year or at the start of 2014.” This last bit suggests that Doctor Who will take about a year off and will likely … Continue reading

Scifi and Fantasy TV Pilots Hoping for a Series This Year

S.H.I.E.L.D

1. S.H.I.E.L.D If you thought Phil Coulson died in Avengers Assemble, you might have to reconsider your position as it seems like good old Agent Coulson will be back, leading a new team of agents. This time though it will be as part of a TV series rather than another movie if the production team gets its way. Starring Clark Gregg who resurrects his part as Coulson, Ian De Caestecker (The Fades) and Ming-Na Wen (Stargate: Universe & A Town Called Eureka), the chances of this pilot going to series we think are pretty much 100%. Oh, did we mention that the new series was created by Joss Whedon? Nuff said. 2. Legends Another pilot which seems to be almost a dead cert to be picked up to go to series is TNT’s Legends. Fans of Dollhouse will find the … Continue reading

Where were you on 11/22/63?

11-22-63

It is said that the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on 22nd November 1963 in Dallas, Texas is one of those events which has been impregnated onto the psyche of everyone who was around at the time. Maybe the more important question is, should you take it? It is something worth thinking about as we gear up for what could well become a televisual treat if it comes off, as it has been reported by Deadline that Bad Robot, the production company owned by JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk, and the very same one behind such hit TV shows … Continue reading
