From the creator of the Battlestar Galactica re-imagining and the showrunner of Star Trek, Ronald D Moore, comes a new show called Helix, for which the first teaser trailer has been released (below). The show is about a group of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who head to a secret research station in the Arctic after reports of an outbreak of a mysterious new disease, an outbreak which, if it spreads, could threaten to destroy life as we know it. Syfy have picked up the show for an initial 13 episode run and they are skipping the pilot stage altogether and going straight into production.

It’s not funny anymore. Things look like they are starting to get serious and while the doctor tries to update Amy and Rory via voicemail about what he’s been up to, something else is taking the attention of the Ponds. Is the marriage in difficulty, or is it something else? This is the fifth and final episode of the web based micro series from the BBC which acts as a prologue to the new series of Doctor Who, Asylum of The Daleks which starts tomorrow night on BBC1.
