Grimm is based upon the fairytale stories you were told as a child, the ones written by The Brothers Grimm. The twist here though is that the stories have been reinterpreted and set in a modern day World.

Grimm follows the life of a cop called Nick Burkhardt who moves to Portland, Oregon. Soon after his move though, Nick starts seeing visions. For some reason, he now starts seeing beautiful women as old hags and ordinary, everyday people as monsters and vile creatures.

In order to try and explain his visions, Nick visits an old relative in hospital who explains to him that he has been given The Grimm, a supernatural gift, that allows him to see monsters, creatures and supernatural beings in their true form. The visions Nick has been having are not visions at all, he is, for the first time in his life, seeing things as they really are.
