AMC have released a new poster to promote the forthcoming premiere of the third season of The Walking Dead which will hit screens on Sunday 14th October in the USA and on Friday 19th October in the UK on FX. The poster shows Rick Grimes played by Andrew Lincoln standing on top of a prison bus with the prison in the background aiming his gun at something or maybe someone? As the poster says in season 3 our heroes continue to fight the dead but they also begin to develop a fear of the living. Check out the poster below. It’s not funny anymore. This is the fifth and final episode of the web based micro series from the BBC which acts as a prologue to the new series of Doctor Who, Asylum of The Daleks which starts tomorrow night on BBC1.

Deadline are reporting that ABC have ordered a live action pilot for a proposed TV series based on Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D from the writer and director of The Avengers, Joss Whedon. S.H.I.E.L.D, depending upon whether you are a comic book fan or a fan of the Avengers movie universe stands for Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate or Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division respectively, and is headed up by Nick Fury, as played by Samuel L. Jackson in the movie universe. Fury recruits Thor, The Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America to defend the Earth against Thor’s brother Loki, thus forming The Avengers. Joss Whedon is expected to write the pilot and may direct depending on his schedule. There will be frequent collaborators for the series including Joss’ brother Jed Whedon.
