| It’s not really clear where Bo is from originally, but what is known is that she was given up for adoption by her birth mother Aife. She was adopted by Mary and Sam Dennis and grew up unaware that she was different. That all changed at the age of 18 when she had her first sexual encounter with her boyfriend and she inadvertently drained him of his life force, killing him. Since then, Bo has been on the run, using her ingenuity to create new identities for herself to evade capture. |

| Bo initially doesn’t know what she is. All that she knows is that she must feed on the sexual energy of humans. Bo is also openly bi-sexual, with no preference either way for men or women. She has had two romantic relationships since finding out what she was, one with Lauren and one with Dyson. |

| In the first episode of the series, Bo is working in a bar and ends up killing someone in order to save Kenzi. Because Dyson and Hale were involved in the invesigation of the murder they realise it was committed by a succubus and end up tracking Bo down and bringing her before the Fae Elders who tell Bo what she is. |

| Bo decides that she is not going to side with either the Light or the Dark Fae and walks the line between the clans, fiercely clinging to her independence. She also chooses to live among humans, hiding her true nature, and doesn’t perceive humans to be inferior beings to the Fae. |
