Syfy have annnounced that they will not be returning Alphas for a third season.

“We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives,” they said in a statement.

“We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”

“Sad to say that Alphas will not be returning”, said Azita Ghanizada, who played hyper-sensitive former CIA linguist Rachel Pirzad. ”What an honour to get to play Rachel for two years and to work with and for the MOST AMAZING PEOPLE EVER.”

The show’s co-creator Zakk Penn tweeted, “Appreciate the tweets. Six year journey for me and [co-creator] @mkarnow comes to an end. But a new one begins soon. To Vegas. Where it all began.”
