Sanctuary Cancelled

The very words stated by Amanda Tapping when she tweeted about the fact that Syfy had pulled the plug on the innovative and boundaries pushing show. She added, "We love and adore you. Thankyou for the love and support. Now to the long dark tea time of my soul."

It probably hasn’t come as a great shock to many, that the groundbreaking show has been cancelled. Over the period of four seasons, viewing figures have steadily dwindled down to less than a million, which is clearly not a sustainable number fo Syfy. Even though in season 4, the numbers rallied a little, it clearly wasn’t enough.

Sanctuary set new standards when it moved from a purely Internet based show to mainstream TV through Syfy. All of its sets were computer generated and filming took place in front of green screens with the use of state of the art RED cameras.
