Season 4 Confirmed for The Vampire Diaries

| Filling the Twilight Void |

With Twilight finished there is a void to be filled and one of the few places left for wannabe vampires to turn is The CW’s The Vampire Diaries. This is something that the show’s producers have recognised and they are probably banking on it to turn around the trend of a constant loss of viewers. Only 3.1 million viewers watched the season three premiere in the US which is lower than the figures for season 2 and a lot lower than those for season 1.

As The CW have given the go ahead for a fourth season, we’ll see whether or not the lack of Twilight is enough to turn the show’s ratings around.

Don’t get me wrong, the show is pretty good and it has a pretty decent, and sexy, cast, and quite a lot of loyal followers but it’s going to take more than good looks to get it beyond four seasons.
