Terra Nova Cancelled

Terra Nova Cancelled

Fox Pulls the Plug on Terra Nova
As reported on Deadline today, Fox have decided that they don’t want to keep throwing $4m per episode at Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur TV series.

There has been speculation for months that Terra Nova could make a return in the Autumn, which is why Fox addressed the issue early, but in the end, even though ratings weren’t too bad, with the show averaging over 7 million viewers per episode in the US and excellent viewing figures in the UK on Sky 1 HD, it was decided that Terra Nova was essentially just too expensive to produce.

There is still slim hope that the show could return as it is being shopped around other networks, but even if someone else does pick it up, it will probably require a hefty budget cut, which in the end may mean less dinosaur CGI which basically defeats the object of airing the show in the first place. So, in essence it looks like R.I.P. Terra Nova.
