The Governor Has Been Cast
One of the most iconic characters from The Walking Dead comic book series has been cast by AMC, ready for season three of The Walking Dead.

David Morrissey will play the part of The Governor who is the psychotic leader of a band of survivors who are located in Woodbury. It is arguable that The Governor is responsible for a higher death rate, at least as far as our group of survivors is concerned, than the flesh eating zombie hoardes.

David Morrissey has starred in a number of roles, most notable of which may be alongside David Tennant’s Doctor in the Doctor Who Christmas Special, The Next Doctor, a part which led to speculation that Morrissey was in line for the role of the 11th Doctor, a part which eventually went to Matt Smith.

We’re looking forward to seeing how evil David Morrissey can really act as that is essentially what is required to play the part of The Governor.

Unfortunately, The Walking Dead TV Show doesn’t have time to go into the back story of The Governor. However, if you want to find out where this guy has come from then it is worth checking out the graphic novel by Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga, The Walking Dead: Rise of The Governor
