The Event

In Northern Alaska towards the end of the Second World War, an unidentified aircraft crashed in the Brooks Range. It was eventually determined, that although the passengers it carried looked human, they were actually not from Earth. However similar they might appear, they have some genetic differences and also do not age as quickly as humans do.
The majority of the plane crash survivors were captured by the United States government and were held captive in a facility were the intelligence agencies are trying to determine their origin and their purpose. However, the aliens are not giving much away. Some of the survivors though evaded capture and, due to only sustaining minor injuries in the crash were able to escape. They are currently living among the U.S. population.
The President, Elias Martinez, shortly after taking office, learns of the aliens' existence and decides that they should be released and that their existence should be shared with the World, even though the intellignce community objects. However, before the president's plans can be set in motion, an assassination attempt causes them to be put on hold. As the only reason the president survived was through the intervention of non-human technology, the CIA is alerted to the fact that not all the aliens that survived the crash are in captivity. They therefore put together a plan to to track them down and eliminate them. Unknown to the agency, the agent they put in charge is also an alien.....

Sean Walker knows nothing about any of this. He is simply planning to propose to his girlfriend Leila on a Caribbean cruise but his plans are cut short when Leila mysteriously disappears. He sets out to find her and inadvertently stumbles into the assassination plot.....
