| The World as we know it has ended. The Zombie apocalypse has begun. Small town Sheriff Rick Grimes has been critically wounded and lies in a coma in a hospital bed. When he eventually comes around he finds himself alone in the hospital. |

| It doesn’t take long though for him to realise that he is along only in terms of the living. He is apparently surrounded by the undead. As he heads towards home and back to the loving arms of his wife and son, he sees things that shock and confound him. |

| When he eventually arrives home, he finds his family have left as have groups of other people in an effort to survive the Zombie hordes. |

| Rick eventually finds his family who have joined a group of other survivors. Rick joinds them and becomes the leader of the group. As they journey from one town to the next and from city to city, trying to find a new, safe home for themselves, the bonds that bind family and friends are severely tested… |
